The Fuel-efficient and Fun Ford EcoSport

Having a smaller subcompact SUV that easily navigates along city streets is one of the reasons why the EcoSport remains popular amongst Eatontown drivers. The fuel-efficiency that the vehicle offers is also appealing.

The base models come with a 1.0-liter boosted three-cylinder engine, which is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The engine puts out 123 horsepower. The vehicles containing the powertrain have an EPA rating of 27 mpg/29 mpg. Lakewood owners may also tow up to 1,400 pounds with the proper equipment.

Some Jackson consumers prefer the extra power that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides. The engine comes with the same transmission. But, the motor is only available with all-wheel drive. The more powerful powertrain has a combined EPA rating of 30 mpg. The boost of energy enables the vehicle to haul up to 2,000 pounds.

The basic interior seats five passengers with plenty of head and legroom. The EcoSport excels in terms of cargo space. There is 20.9 cubic feet of room behind the rear seats. However, fold the 60/40 split seats flat and get 50 cubic feet of storage space. The base EcoSport S has cloth upholstery and manually adjustable front seats.

The SE level has a power-adjustable driver's seat, and the fronts seats are also heated. The steering wheel and shifting knob are leather-encased, providing you a slick grip anywhere you drive around Jersey City. The climate control is automatic and if that's not enough, the moonroof increases the view for all occupants on all adventures. The touch-screen is a full eight inches and the upgraded system adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Owners also get keyless entry. The elite Titanium models have leather-trimmed upholstery.

Standard base technological equipment includes a 4.2-inch touch-screen on the infotainment system. All of the vehicles serve as Wi-Fi hotspots that accommodate up to 10 mobile devices. The interior also features two USB ports. SES level models add voice-activated navigation, ambient lighting, and moisture-sensing windshield wipers plus a household-style electrical outlet. The Premium vehicles add a premium stereo system with 10 speakers.

A rearview camera is standard safety equipment that our Freehold drivers appreciate. An alert ensures that all passengers buckle up to stay safe. Parents have the option of monitoring a teen's driving habits, limit vehicle speed and stereo volume. The SE level adds fog lights and rear parking sensors. Additional SES safety features include blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warnings.
